and用作连词,主要用来连接两个或两个以上的词、短语或句子。
and连接两个相同的词语可用以加强语气或表示动作的反复或一再发生。
常用and连接十位数和百位数。
两个名词被and连接,如前一名词带冠词,后一名词不带冠词,则整个结构表示一个整体。
and所连接的两个名词之前有each,every修饰时,其谓语动词用单数形式。
and连接两个相同的复数名词可以表示不同的种类或者用来加强语气。
and连接两个名词,其后共用一个介词时,以后一个名词决定使用什么介词。
and通常可代替动词不定式符号to,表示目的; and连接两个动词不定式,后面的不定式符号to常省略。

当用两个形容词去描述一个物体时，通常不会用and去连接这两个形容词。

A, B, and C（and前有逗号）的用法比A, B and C （and前没有逗号）普遍。另外，A, B, and C属于常用结构，A,B,C和A and B and C结构只在为了加强口语势气才出现，但是应尽量避免使用，如I keep a cat, a dog, a horse和I keep a cat and a dog and a horse；
Come and see me,Go and look at it等句子结构中，and表达的意思是“Come以see me做目的，Go以look at it 做目的”，不是并列关系存在，常出现在口语中。要注意的是这种结构只适用于现在时态和不定式里，不能用在过去时态、分词或动名词中。

以上属于错误的表达方式。
and的有一种习惯用法：这个时候and后面的动词基本属于将来时态，不过也有其他事态的用法。还有些时候，and前只有名词，没有动词。

该句中，golf and a rubber of bridge属于有关联的，但是和cricket则搭不上关系，因此，可以把and用在golf和rubber of bridge之间，但不要和cricket连用。
