  1. half用作形容词的意思是“一半的”,表示“半个某物”时,英式英语多用half a...; 美式英语多用a half...。
  2. half也可作“(…点钟)以后半小时”解。
  3. half可直接修饰名词,但不可直接修饰代词。
n. (名词)
  1. half用作名词的基本意思是“半”,指把一个整体分成不一定平等的两部分。引申可指“二分之一”,体育比赛的“半场”,公共汽车或火车上的“半票”,在口语中还可指啤酒等液体的“半品脱”。
  2. half of后接名词或代词作主语时,动词的数应根据名词或代词而定。如果该名词或代词是复数形式,则其后的谓语动词用复数形式; 反之,则用单数形式。
  3. half常接介词of,意为“…的一半”, of后可接除尺寸、数量以外的名词或代词。
