  1. modify的基本意思是“改变,修改,调整”,强调在一定限度或范围内部分地改变,多用于观点、方法、制度、组织、计划等。
  2. modify引申可表示“修饰”“限定”,尤指形容词或副词修饰另一词或限定另一词的意义。
