  1. absolute的基本意思是“绝对的”,主要用于强调观点、情感或说法,即“十足的; 完全的; 纯粹的”“确实的; 毫无疑问的”; 也可指权威者不受制约地任意行使权力或权威,即“不受约束的; 专制独裁的”; 还可指不依赖其他事物而独立存在的,即“无条件的”,主要用于抽象事物,如时间、空间、量度等; 偶尔也可指“不掺杂异物的”。
  2. absolute在句中主要用作定语,偶尔也可用作表语。作“不容置疑的; 毫无疑问的”解时仅用于名词前;作“独立的; 绝对的”解时通常用于名词前。
  3. absolute表示极限意义,不用于比较等级,也不可用表示强调程度的very等副词修饰(有限定词修饰时例外),但是可用nearly等副词修饰。
