用法讲解

pron. (代词)
  1. each用作代词时,在句中可作主语、宾语和同位语。
  2. each用作主语时,常用于each of短语,如果each强调的是“个别”,谓语动词与相关的物主代词通常总用单数形式,但如果each强调的是“集体”或先行词是复数或先行词的主语是由两个或两个以上的单数名词或两个复数名词组成时,谓语动词和相关的物主代词则用复数。
  3. each用作复数的同位语时,谓语动词和相关的物主代词也用复数(包括附加的疑问句)。
  4. each other通常只能用作宾语,且总是同复数名词或代词相呼应,表示“互相”这一概念,含有“有来有往”的意味,所以不与conflict, compete等动词连用,且用了each other则不可再加both。
  5. each other的所有格为each other's,其后只接复数名词。

  1. each用作副词时通常放在动词之后或句末。

each, all, every
  • 这三个词的区别是:
  • 1.all是把总数作为一个整体考虑; every是首先心中想着总体,然后考虑全部个体; each是首先考虑总体,然后一个一个地考虑个体。
  • 2.all和each在句中可用于of之前或主语之后; 而every在句中则不能用于这样的位置。
  • 3.every后面的动词永远是单数形式; each在名词之前动词用单数形式,在主语之后,则视主语而定; all若修饰的是复数形式的名词,则动词用复数形式,否则动词用单数形式。

  • 三者都可用来概括全体,但强调重点不同。
  • all是整体性地考虑总体(具有概括性)
  • every是考虑总体中的所有成员(与 all 很接近)
  • each是逐个逐个地考虑总体(具有个别性)
