adj. (形容词)
- every的基本意思是指组成整体的每个个体,但不把它看作具体的某一个,而是将其看作是全体成分的典型和代表。
- every与抽象名词连用,表示希望、机会、理由等“一切可能的”。
- every一般修饰单数名词,作主语时与动词单数形式连用,在口语中可用人称代词和物主代词的复数形式指代。
- every和数字连用时,后面接复数名词。
- every同否定词not连用时表示部分否定。

- 这三个词的区别是:
- 1.all是把总数作为一个整体考虑; every是首先心中想着总体,然后考虑全部个体; each是首先考虑总体,然后一个一个地考虑个体。
- 2.all和each在句中可用于of之前或主语之后; 而every在句中则不能用于这样的位置。
- 3.every后面的动词永远是单数形式; each在名词之前动词用单数形式,在主语之后,则视主语而定; all若修饰的是复数形式的名词,则动词用复数形式,否则动词用单数形式。
