  1. mass的基本意思是“团,块,堆”,指不规则物体聚成在一起形成的“团,块,堆”,是可数名词。
  2. mass也可作“大量,大批; 众多”解,是可数名词。
  3. a mass of或masses of起量词作用,可译为“大堆的”“大片的”“大块的”“大量的”“大批的”“大部分的”“大多数的”“广大的”等,可与表示具体事物的名词连用,也可与表示抽象事物的名词连用,还可以与表示人的名词连用。与表示具体事物的名词连用时,谓语动词可用单数形式,也可用复数形式。of后接表示物的名词时mass前可有修饰语。
