  1. scent用作名词时意思是“气味,香味”,转化成动词时,指用嗅觉器官嗅出某种味道,引申则可指对将要发生的事情事先有所觉察或感觉到某事会发生,即“觉察到”“预感”。scent也可指“洒香水”。
  2. scent多用作及物动词,后接名词或that从句作宾语。可用于被动结构。
