  1. different强调事物存在本质上的差别,有时有对比意义,可以修饰单数和复数名词。
  2. different常接介词from、to或than,在英语中常用different to,在美语中有时用different than,而different from英美都用。在口语中, different from有时可接从句。
  3. different在肯定句中可用very修饰,在否定句中则用much修饰。表示否定时用no修饰different比用not否定的语气强,后者只指“相同”,而前者则强调“一模一样”“毫无差别”。
  4. different在句中可用作定语或表语,无比较级和最高级。

  • 这三者都可以作“与…不同”解。其区别是:
  • 1.侧重点不同:different from侧重于不同; different than侧重于对照; different to则侧重于比较。试比较:
  • Her second book is different from her first.
