  1. material的基本意思是“材料,原料”,尤指“布料”,可用作可数名词,也可用作不可数名词。泛指“建筑材料,化肥原料,战略物资,原材料”时,用复数形式。
  2. material还可指写作等所取材的“资料,素材”,是不可数名词,常与介词for连用。引申可作“可造之材”解。
