  1. offend的基本意思是指通过伤害其感情或违反其观念等手段而使他人发怒。引申还可指违反或违犯规则、制度、法律等。
  2. offend作“使发怒”解时是及物动词,其宾语可以是人,也可以是物。
  3. offend作“违反”解时是不及物动词,常与介词against连用。
  4. offend还常用于 be ~ed 结构,后接at表示“因…而生气”,接by表示“被…激怒”,接with表示“对…恼怒,对…不满意”。
