- fear作抽象名词时的意思是“害怕”“担心”“忧虑”,指内在害怕的心理。
- fear表示“恐惧”“惧怕”时,可用作可数名词,也可用作不可数名词。 特指某种恐惧或多种恐惧时,可用作可数名词;表示“畏惧”时,是不可数名词。
- fear表示“可能性”时,用作不可数名词,其后常接介词of短语。
- fear后可接that引导的同位语从句。for fear that连接的从句总是虚拟的,并用肯定结构。
