v. (动词)
  1. qualify的基本意思是“(使)有资格”,指通过宣誓、作保、遵照必要形式或条件而获得合法或适当的权力,还可指取得或具备某一职业的合格条件。引申可作“限制”“修饰”解。
  2. qualify可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时可接名词或代词作宾语,意为“使某人有资格做某事”。
  3. qualify还可接以动词不定式充当补足语的复合宾语。
  4. qualify与介词as连用表示“有条件做…”; 与介词for连用表示“能胜任,有做…的条件”。
  5. 在非正式语体里, qualify可引出直接引语,作“赞许”解。
